Can I make them sick?

Ok, stupid question but I've come down with a bad cold. If I handle my goslings can they get sick too? I know most illnesses are transferable like that but I also know geese have sensitive respiratory system. They're only a week old and I'd hate to quit handling them, but I don't want them to be sick.

Also when can I start feeding grit and greens to them? That's a totally unrelated question

Nooo- they will be fine. You can give them greens now. Grit should be free choice. For young geese I usually keep a pie pan with sand in it. Once mine are free ranging they help themselves to the kids sand box.

Just any sand? For like a kid's box because I only have oyster grit and Idk if they can eat that (and thank you btw)
