Can I mix oldish chicks and young ones

I got 3 silkies they are 29 days old and I will be hatching chicks for a friend but I want a few and I was just wondering will it be ok to mix them or are the silkies to old even though they grow slowly? I can't keep the chicks if I can't put them togetherThanks here's a picture of the silkies

I don't think I can because they will be 30 days older

Personally yes you can mix them but the older ones may pick on the day olds but once the put them in their place and get used to them being around they should be fine

I would give the day olds a few days to get mobile, then introduce them.

Something for the younger chicks to scoot under and get out of the line of fire of your older birds is a good idea.

Be prepared..... you may need to temporarily set up a divider for a week to six weeks with feeders and waterers on both sides (one for old and one for the new).
This way if you do have any real aggression issues you can go with a slower paced integration. I would recommend this first at least for a few days if not weeks whilst your hatchlings grow a little and feather out a bit more.
