Hi all,

I have 3 young silver sebrights, 1 young dutch bantam roo. 2 x 2 week old Dutch bantams, still in a brooder inside (hopefully hens) and 7 golden sebrights adults.
I am getting a pair of Rhode Island Red cross New Hampshire tomorrow.

Will they all get along. What is the easiest way to introduce the 2 new chickens. All the others are bantams.

They will all be sharing the 3X3 coop/cabin during the night. Plenty of space to roost. But during the day, they will free range on the farm. I have a small portable coop and run. Can I keep them in that for a few days outside and then just move the portable inside the big coop at night? If its the reds that are new and there are only a pair of them, will they still boss the bantams around? Sorry, new to this all!

Not a problem, being new helps you learn a lot! Your plan seems fine, the big girls will peck on the bantams for the most part because its all about food. The older bantam hens will start a fight with them and might be alright with the big hens but as for the little chicks, nope. That little rooster might get a long when he's done growing though.

Thanks for the response. I am wondering if I should just leave the 2 new chickens out of the main coop at night. They don't have a coop at the moment. Maybe that will eliminate some fighting. I don't want my bantams to get hurt! During the day there is more than enough space as we are on a farm for them to steer clear of eachother. If it works that way. Haahaha!

Let us know how it turns out.
