can i mix

hi guys chicken 101 here and i was just thinking can i mix my chickens a ducklings i have 30 chickens and 14 ducklings can mix them i have feed for both but if the ducks eat the chicken feed or the chickens eat the duck feed will it heart/kill them thanks chicken 101 out

First ducks cannot have medicated chick starter it will kill them and if you buy normal chick feed from what I have read it is not good for them also you must acknowled that though chicks are messy ducks are ten times worse so considering that you are welcoming bacteria into a pen of a chick that is not made to handle this much dirt welcoming disease and death ducks play in water and chicks are not meant to be wet as well there are post everywhere talking about how to keep chicks dry so they dont get chilled and die

in short no this is a bad idea not trying to be mean but...

Medicated chick starter with Amprolium is completely safe for ducklings to eat.

and ps i have 2 big rosters will they heart the ducklings

True, but somehow I just don't trust huge conglomerants. Mostly beucase I've had friends dogs that got very sick over name brand dog food that was recalled (eg not some fancy organic thing) So no medicated chick feed for my ducks.

That and ducks will need alot more vitimans than chickens needs, so medicated (or non medicated) food they need something like poly-vi-sol or other poultry/farm multivitman. I like the poli-vi-sol alot more than brewer's yeast. I also alternate that with the Save-a-chick electrolite and probiotic when they are young becuase ducks are messy and mess makes disease.

I would not try that. I would keep the ducklings separated at least until they're grown. The roos are very likely to hurt them, and even hens can hurt ducklings if they don't like having them around.
