We rescued 3 abandoned chicken eggs and one hatched last night around 3 AM . Another chick is trying desperatly to break out but the first one keep pecking at him while he is still in the egg! Can I move the first one into the brooder, even if it hasn't been a full 24 hours from hatch? I am afraid he might really hurt the one trying to hatch.

I have before, and it is ok for the chick, provided the brooder is plenty warm (95-100 degrees). Lots of people say don't open the incubator to do so though, if you do you'll risk losing humidity and potentially harming the other eggs.

Others with much more experience will hopefully chime in later but- From what I've read on the board; the other chicks in the hatcher will actually help out pipped chicks. Personally I would leave well enough alone-that is unless you really see something going wrong.
Besides if you took the other chick out- it would alter the humidity & temp enough to harm the hatching chick.....Just my 2¢ though. Good luck & keep us posted here.

That is completely normal. Mine will climb on hatching eggs, peck them, toss them... Everything should be fine unless you think something is really going wrong, otherwise it's completely normal. GOOD LUCK!

I'd leave it be a while longer. The other chick is just trying to help...

Chick #2 is out! We have one more to go. The third is not making much progress. I will wait a little while. I'll keep you updated.
