I hope this is the right category to put this question under, I wasn't sure.

I'm looking at possibly getting a duck, but only if I can put it with my chickens. I would be getting a female and putting her in with a flock of around 25 chickens 2 of whom are roosters. Is this feasible?

Can be done with female ducks, but because of the wet nature of ducks - not recommended. Some special management is required.

Get two. So she has someone who speaks her language. As long as they are female you'll be fine though the ducks will need an all flock feed. You can't put drakes with chickens because of the physiological difference.

What special management? I have ducks and am interested to know what special I would need to add some chicken hens. Thanks.
One would be entirely separate housing. Another would be a raised coop for chickens with ducks sleeping under. The biggest issue is just separating the wet, messy nature of ducks and how chickens like it dry.
