Mine dont fight but they are all from the same hatch. I have 7 girls and 2 boys (I think!) They have a lot of room to get away from each other too. I have heard of them being not so nice to each other...

I've had them together from the same hatch, but soon as mating age comes around you find out who the real roos are!!!

I keep a few males per pen, if raised together they shouldn't cause too much of a problem. Coturnix don't set their eggs often so you can eat any egg anyways.

1:3 is probably the lowest you should go, unless you want more hens in a cage and more fertile eggs I would go with 1:5
