Can I put her back now?

I have a chicken/hen that I quarantined after a coon attack. She survived but has a nasty neck wound that seems pretty healed. There are no feathers there anymore. It doesn't appear red, just featherless. It has been two weeks tomorrow since the attack. She was raised with this group since they were chicks from the hatchery. When and how do I put her back with her mates? If I do it at night I won't be there to see how they react. Should I do it in the evening just before bed time?

If you put her back at night, they won't do anything...at least until morning.

Maybe put her in an adjoinging area to see if they try to get her through the fence???

Or just put her back at night, and plan on getting up just before first light to be out there to supervise. That might be faster and easier.

Well there is alot of pecking at night. Fighting for the best seats in the house so to speak. Should I wait until alls quiet? I usually let them out of the run for a stretch, for about an hour in the evening, maybe then?

Hey, sorry, didn't see that you posted again until right now (lots going on around here lately). Did you try putting her back yet? If so, how did it go? I has suggested night, becuase once my birds are hunkered down for the night, there's no getting them up...I can even go in and mess with my crazy hen that I can't get anywhere near during daylight hours!
