So I was wonder if I could put my six week old chicks out side permanently? The weather here is really nice right now, sometime right in the sun it gets hot but it's not bad. What do you think?

Mine are outside, but in their brooder. I built a big brooder to put outside. They have light to get under in the evening. I turn the light off in the day since it is getting about 85 during the day now. But if it isn't going to get in the 80+, I leave one light on for them.

Unless you live in the Frozen North, your 6 week old chicks are fine to go outside. They can easily tolerate freezing temps at this age.

I kept mine in the house/brooder until they were 4 weeks old then put them in the coop with a light and regulated temps around 70 degrees. At 6 weeks I took the light away and payed attention to the low temps not being much lower than 60 degrees.
I just followed the temperature recommendations I've read about of starting day olds at 90 degrees then drop 5 degrees every week to be on the safe side. So 6 weeks times 5 degrees subtracted from 90 degrees is 60 degrees. They are probably almost fully feathered at 6 weeks like mine so should be good to go.

Mine are 7 weeks and outside 24/7, they're in a pen during the day and a dog crate at night. I no longer use a light for them.

Mine are six weeks, and are going outside in a few days. Temps in my area have been in the 80s+ for a week or two now during the day! and 50s at night. My chicks are already weened off a lamp, and they're fully feathered. I just need a few more days to put the finishing touches on my coop.

Thanks! I just wanted to check before I let them out.
