Introducing chicks to the adult birds safely

I've never heated my coop before but these were a little too small for our low of 21 with wind chill about 10. Coop is solid sides north, south and west, chicken wire east with plastic stapled over, roofline vent with rodent defense. And for the last 2 days 100 watt red heat lamp on the chick side

They would not go in with adult chickens tonight so back in run dog crate (run not that secure) either moving to greenhouse or indoors tomorrow, indoors by extreme cold tuesday

They were fine last night, it got into the 20s. They did go in the coop this morning, they are really too big for the dog crate in house. Low temp 16, with no drafts and a heat lamp safely hung with chain from ceiling can they stay out?

They are staying out and hopefully sleeping in coop with heat lamp. I set up a dog crate in back bedroom in case of power failure
