Is there a club like the AKC that I can register my Dorking rooster? Please do not send me to the Dorking Club Website. It is (sorry to admit) useless. Any suggestions otherwise would be greatly appreciated!

No, you don't register birds. You can join clubs though to be a part of them, but birds aren't registered. . . The most there is, is showing them and getting their name out there, and getting them NPIP certified. (tested negative for several diseases)

Ah, then there's no registering. ALBC counts breeders/hatcheries by how long they've been breeding them and how many they have. If you just have a rooster, he doesn't count. If you have a flock of I believe 50 or more, they count. Especially if ALBC is counting for more truly preserved Dorkings, sorry to say, a hatchery one (not saying yours is) wouldn't count, as hatcheries don't preserve - They breed for production and profit.

If you are interested in the breed, I would call or shoot an email to the director of whatever region you're in. So many breed websites are run by those passionate about the breed - not necessarily the world's best web designs, but there's a wealth of information behind the scene.

It would be great to see another enthusiast get into them - they're such a beautiful breed and so worth preserving!

If you google registry for poultry, they are out there... but I've never heard of anyone using them. I've wondered about that concept, myself. I don't know what kind of written records the pro breeders keep.
