Can I Remove a Roosting Bar?

Hello!

My coop is 4' x 8'. I currently have two roosting bars at the back of the coop, 18" apart. I read that you should have 12" of roosting bar length for each chicken. However, all four of my hens are on less than half of one of the bars. They've slept like this the last few days in a row.

Could I remove the back bar and only leave the one they're using?

Chickens will smash themselves together, even when it's very hot. I dont know why, but especially if the roosts are staggered. They all want the top! If they need the lower roost to help them get to the top, leave it in
