I am trying to come up with a cheap creative way to create a coop. I've heard of a few things people have made coops from, dog houses, wine barrels, etc. If you have a coop made from something existing or just a coop that you managed to build re-using things to keep the costs super low, I would appreciate seeing pics of what you came up with. If you don't have a pic, I'd still love to hear a description.

Thank you so much.

I don't have one yet....but my husband says that he thinks a chest freezer would make a GREAT coop...
It's already insulated. All that would need to be done with, cut a pop door and take out the motor. this would make it lighter. It would be easy to clean too.
So, we're looking for one... BTW it would be for my silkies.

We used an old dog house that the dogs hated. It's 4x4x3 and hold 4 chickens just fine. I did add a run to it so there was more room while they were stuck inside. If i remember that cost about $25 -$35 for the run and front door for the coop.

Have fun
