Can I see your "pullet area" setups?

For that stage I put a rat cage on the floor of the coop, and close up the brooder. At dusk the chicks will lie down somewhere near the brooder, so easy to scoop them up and transfer them to the cage.

By the second night they'll usually head straight into the coop and just lie on the floor in a pile until I put them in the cage again. I do this nightly until they follow the adults onto the roost, which so far has taken 2 to 10 days.View attachment 4158669
Thankfully mine figured out going in the coop after the first night I shoved them in there. Second night I went out fully expecting to have to play whack-a-mole with chicks again, only to find they had put themselves to bed before the adults! Occasionally I have to help one stray find their friends, but they have regularly been putting themselves away before the hens do.

It's fine if they run away screaming (better for their safety that way). Important thing is that the hens aren't doing any real damage to them and that they're able to eat and drink. If both those are fine, then let them handle interacting with the hens as much or as little as they wish.
Thankfully no injuries. Occasionally they will peck at a head or between their wings which freaked me out the first couple of days.
