Can I see your silkies and Plymouth rocks?

Most of Silkies have a walnut/flat comb, but some can have a huge single black comb. most have 5 toes. The bantam Silkies look a lot like little teddy bears, but the Full size look more like regular chickens, just a lot fluffier. If you can upload some pics of the flea market Silkies, we can tell you if they are the real McCoys or some kind of half breed.

Silkies have always reminded me of a Hoppity Horse LOL (I had a brown one) ;D

These ones have red combs, which is what is throwing me off. I'll try to get some pics this weekend.

I think the old man at the flea market may be a little.... confused..... Do you have some pics of silkies or Plymouth rocks you could post?. I want to buy some of his chickens, but I really don't think they are silkies based on other pics I've seen....
True silkie chickens have 5 toes and black skin. Heres a few photos of my mine! The black one is a rooster and the white a hen.

Sorry, white :)

Thanks, these chickens look like white Plymouth rocks with really feathery legs, so I was thinking it was a silkie crossed with something, but couldn't find any similar pics online.

I only have 1 decent photo of one of my White Plymouth Rocks. She's hatchery, so she would not be up to "standard" if you are looking for something to show. She's less than a year in the photo.
If you can get pictures of what the man is selling, that would be good. A couple of other white chickens that I can think of that might look similar if they are young would be Cornish Cross and White Jersey Giants.

I'll definitely try to get some pics. I'm not sure if I'll buy from him though. He said he had about 30 more chickens in a bathtub at home :/ I'm not sure if it's show chickens I'd want, but I'd like some pretty egg layers. Buff orpingtons are pretty, but to me they are like the vanilla of chicken colors. I wouldn't mind having random pretty chickens in my flock, but then I'd have to figure out how to keep them separate yet together, and that's difficult, lol.

If they are all large fowl, then you wouldn't necessarily have to keep them separate would you? You are talking about mixing bantam and large fowl right?

Having a variety is fun. You may be surprised what becomes a favorite and sometimes you may think you really want one particular breed, then when you have them you think
"meh, I don't really want those again" LOL
