Piney Woods in Texas
Hi folks,
I live in Texas and have been invited to bring chicks, chickens, and/or eggs to sell at a big 'Flea Market/sale' in Louisiana. I have the P-T certification. Does anyone know if that document allows me to bring birds into Louisiana to sell? With the gov't shut-down malarkey going on, I can't find any information. I've sent an e-mail to the man that did the testing, asking him, but haven't heard back yet... I just sent it, though. lol So I thought I'd check and see if anyone here knows. Thanks for any info you may have.

You are on the right track by contacting your P/T tester, most of the testers are not real computer savvy so you might have to wait. You will get better response if you phone. I believe your tester is Dan Dykes and he would be happy to inform you.
You can get his number off of the Bluebonnet Classic Poultry show website

Thank you Blackred,
I did hear back from Mr. Dykes (he's so nice!) and he wasn't sure about the La. law. I kept looking, and did find out something. It says the birds that reside in La. must have been tested
within 90 days of a show, exhibit.. Birds from outside La. must be tested within 30 days of a show, exhibit, sale.... I'll be 2 or 3 weeks outside that window. It's ok, I think it's my 'sign' that the timing isn't right for me. : ) ...at least that's how I'm going to take it! LOL
I really appreciate your reply Blackred.

Off the record-
I have sold and shown at numerous shows outside of Texas and they never get so picky about the details. Most of the time they don't even ask to see my papers.
