Can I start my 12 wk old RIR's on layer pellets?

I need to move my 12 week old RIR's out with my big chickens because I need the room for my stars. They have been on flockraiser and are really big, they have grown sooo much. Eveything that I have read says to wait until 18-20 weeks before I put them on layer but I REALLY need to move them. I am kinda new to this chicken stuff so I wanted some opinions.

yup,, @ 3 months old they'll be just fine.


EDIT: ta add,, i would mix their food half-n- half the first couple days,, then right over to "grown-up" food
