Not really - only because they are so so tiny and fragile. One mistake on your part could easily be a chick with a broken leg!

They are also very very fast, and probably will jump right out you hand onto the floor - and that might kill them.

I would wait till they are bigger before you start picking them up.

just place your hand in the brooder they will stand right in it to eat from your palm, mine would peck the feed from under my finger nails it was so cute. Be very careful when lifting them more than an inch or too as jak said they break really easy. enjoy your chicks they grow way too fast! and remember they can fly and will so be careful when they get those feathers in!
