Can I 'trim' my chickens beak?

Hi everyone, :frow

I think one of my chickens beaks need to be trimmed. Her name is Cream Puff and she's a Buff Orp. I don't have any pictures, sorry. Its just the top part is hanging over the bottom part. Oh, and I'm sure its not scissor beak.

Yes, you can trim it if it's necessary and it's causing them difficulty in eating. If they have large rocks or concrete blocks in the run near feeders they will often hone them on their own, but some birds do occasionally need a trim. Only take a little off at a time and be sure not to cut into the quick. It should still be a bit longer than the bottom beak. Small dog nail clippers and a nail file work fine. Here is more info:
