This is a follow-up question from my previous post. They are 4 day old bantams. I haven't actually found any lice or mites, but they are scratching themselves everywhere like crazy, especially their heads and necks. A few can't even sleep because they shake their heads and wake themselves up. Could it be something in their ears? I got them from MPC and I have no idea where they would have gotten mites from (their brooder is in the house) but with all the scratching, something is going on and I don't know what else it could be. I'm going to get them some sand to bathe in. I'm also going to change out bedding and I want to sprinkle Sevin in the brooder and bedding too. The brooder is a big cardboard box and as soon as I find another one, I'll throw it out and start over. Is Sevin okay for baby chicks? If I used it very sparingly, would it hurt them to use 5% Sevin directly on them?
Thanks!

I'm sorry I don't know of the safety of sevin on chicks, but I do know chicks are itchy. They are growing new feathers and down and will scratch to get the feather out of the shaft.

Bumping this, cuz I just received some chicks and they have mites
