i'm still trying to get this bator hubby brought home to a stable temp... it seems to finally be getting where i want it.. i saw in another thread to add glass jars of water.. i had 2 small jars that i dumped out the stuff and washed to use.. they ft great... but when i went to put water in the grooves in the bottom.. i have a hard time seeing that...

can i put a few drops of food coloring into the water before i add it to make it easier to see??

clear water inside of white styrofoam is just crazy... lol..

what an interesting idea. I hope you get some good info. (I haven't ever done a hatch.)

when we incubated a couple eggs this past summer we put food coloring in to be able to see the level. Didn't see any harmful effects since all of the eggs hatched

and we were using a homemade bator too!
