Can it be lice in baby chicks?

My little girls itched a lot when I first got them, but they seemed to just sprout feathers overnight. Since I have never had to experience this, I can only imagine that they itch like crazy!!!

My horse did the same thing when his feathers came in.

You could always put a little food grade diatamaceous earth on your hands and gently rub it over them. Any icky critters ought to dessicate and leave them alone if they harbor any parasites.
