Could one use lattice as a substitute for chicken wire?
I just think it looks better that the drad wire!

Is it considered safe? (pred. proof)

Which would be better, the wooden kind, or the plasticy kind?

Thanks in advance!

I think it sounds pretty unsafe. There are some really cute coop/runs though on this forum that could really add to your backyard!! check out some pictures of coop/runs on here and you may find something that you really like.

Best of luck and kind regards.

I would say that the plastic lattice would be as safe as chicken wire. Which is saying that it it is not at all predator proof.

I can't see any problem with it. I think the plastic is stronger. You won't be able to see your chickens though.

That about sums it up there... Chicken wire is not very predator proof (chicken wire is great for retaining chickens in an area you want them to be, but not great for keeping stronger and more wiley animals out). Lattice would be about the same...

I would suggest welded wire with the lattis over it for decoration. Just lattis is not remotely safe from predators.
Good luck to you.

I wouldn't use it, not pred. proof. But there are many chicken coops (including mine
