can LF chicks eat chick starter?

i know, i know, sounds like a dumb question....BUT, i only have 3 bantam chicks now, and they are only about 10 days old and they still can't eat the chick crumbles cuz the crumbles are too big. i have to feed them a baby bird food powder that i got at petsmart. but in a few days my girls will be here (8 LF girls) and i was wondering if they could eat the crumbles without any problems?

our chicks both bantam and large have had no problems eating the chick starter crumbles.

ok, thanks....i haven't tried the crumbles on my bantams in a couple days....i'll try again tonight.

I always start everyone on chick starter, but I bang it up in a bag with a hammer, or run it thru the coffee grinder to make the crumbs smaller. Usually for the first week or two.

good idea! cuz i tried the crumbles again and they don't like it.....but now maybe they're spoiled with the other food i bought them at petsmart. i'll try the hammer thing......i'd rather they eat the crumbles right away instead of me spending money on special bird food (not that they're not worth it....but u know what i mean).
