I think you are hearing about the live Rispens (CVI988) attenuated serotype 1 Marek's disease virus (MDV). Here is a synopsis from a Learned Document on the subject:There us evidence that vaccinated chicks can shed the virus, but most people mix them all the time. Most of my flock is unvaccinated, but my oldest birds are. I've not had a problem, and I've not heard of any who do. But it's def a valid concern.
honestly i don’t know lol. i was pretty tired when the thought came to me. i guess since its a leaky vaccine where the bird can still shed the virus i was concerned because i wasn’t sure if the vaccine itself infects the vaccinated bird? though it sounds like that is sometimes the case.If it's vaccinated for Marek's then why would it give the other chicks Marek's?
Read this a while back. It says that its the most widely used vaccine, but maybe it's specific to this vaccine?I think you are hearing about the live Rispens (CVI988) attenuated serotype 1 Marek's disease virus (MDV). Here is a synopsis from a Learned Document on the subject:

Yes could be, though I am not sure regarding Marek's. I would be interested in knowing though!Read this a while back. It says that its the most widely used vaccine, but maybe it's specific to this vaccine?
