can mareks vaccinated chicks be kept with unvaccinated, or will they give the unvaxxed chickens mareks?

There us evidence that vaccinated chicks can shed the virus, but most people mix them all the time. Most of my flock is unvaccinated, but my oldest birds are. I've not had a problem, and I've not heard of any who do. But it's def a valid concern.
I think you are hearing about the live Rispens (CVI988) attenuated serotype 1 Marek's disease virus (MDV). Here is a synopsis from a Learned Document on the subject:

Happy reading!

If it's vaccinated for Marek's then why would it give the other chicks Marek's?
honestly i don’t know lol. i was pretty tired when the thought came to me. i guess since its a leaky vaccine where the bird can still shed the virus i was concerned because i wasn’t sure if the vaccine itself infects the vaccinated bird? though it sounds like that is sometimes the case.

Read this a while back. It says that its the most widely used vaccine, but maybe it's specific to this vaccine?
