can mother hen eat chick starter?

I have two broody hens sitting on a couple dozen eggs. when they hatch the babies will need chick starter but should the moms eat the same thing?

Absolutely! Be sure to suppliment them with oyster shells (the mommy's). Put it outta reach of the little ones. You could also feed the mum's layer pellets but also put it outta reach of the little ones.

Not a problem with the hen eating the starter. Not sure if you are using medicated or not? Did I miss that?
