I was thinking the same thing
my ducklings fully feathered pretty quick, and at 8 weeks only the slower ones (usually male) just had a touch of yellow on their backs - if I remember correctly.
My ducklings are two weeks old and I no longer have a brooder or anything because its warm enough inside. When ever I can I go out and take them into the garden to nibble, play and eat what bugs we can find.
And like what iamcuriositycat said, I watch from the door as Charlotte has her babies trecking across the lawn to the garden as its raining lightly - they are all fine and they are also 2 weeks old.
8 weeks old does seem awfully late for them to get out to the great out doors
I reckon get em out as soon as possible - they'll love it.
