Can my embryos hear me?

I know this might sound silly, but I want my bobwhite quail babies to know my voice. I am putting them in lock down Monday, August 5th. If I talk to them, will they hear me. Or are they deaf until they hatch? My chicken babies learned very quickly to come to my voice and certain sounds I made. Thanks for any opinion.

Hi there! I'm certain they can hear just as chicken chicks can. I talked to my peeps, both chicken and quail, pretty much every time I turned the eggs

Babies that are about to hatch can hear each other, and the chirping of the hatched ones encourages the others. I don't know at what point they begin to hear, but at some point they can hear you. I'm not sure they'll recognize you if you talk to them, especially with the shell and the incubator muffling it, but it won't hurt to try!

Once they pass the day in development when ears form, they can hear you, even in their eggs! So if it's close to hatch day, chances are good they can hear you.
