My 18 week old golden comet is super noisy. It is not what I have heard others roosters sound like but noisy none the less. She was also the first to get her comb. But she is a different breed so I thought maybe her breed just grows them earlier. She does not have spurs and her tail feathers are not as pointy as other Roos I saw online. She is also supposed to be white if she is a rooster so coloring is right for hen. However my neighbors are going to be very upset if she doesn't stop making all this noise at dawn. Help!!!!

:welcome and good luck with your poultry adventure! :frow Looks like you have a hen. The noise she is making is probably the call that some hens do after they lay an egg.

Thanks, no eggs yet though from any of my three girls. Should be soon right? They are 4 1/2 months.

Should be soon for the comet for sure, her comb is getting bright red. :) The other two might be awhile yet, looks like an Orpington and ?

Does she make the racket all day or just in the morning (once)? She looks like a pullet - sometimes if there is no rooster a hen will take over the crowing. She is beautiful, maybe you could have a talk with her.

Thanks so much! It is usually right away in the morning around 5am. She hasn't started laying eggs but maybe that is her song and eggs will be soon. Thanks so much!!! Glad I don't have yo get rid of her because Roos are not allowed in residential neighborhood. My three girls are golden comet , buff Orpington, and leghorn.
