My courtunix quail are approx 3 weeks old (if they were sold to us at 1 day old like advertised but I’m thinking they were older) they are all now flying and have their adult feathers. Does that mean they are ready to go outside?
They are getting difficult to feed & water as their growers pen has a lift up lid and we end up with a few escapees which are a nightmare to recatch, plus they tend to fly at me rather than away from me. Outside they have a side opening so will be easier to feed.

How cold is it at night in your area? I put mine outside at 3 and 3.5 weeks but that was in the middle of the summer when the nights were in the 50/60 degree range.

Only around 37-40 some nights

That's pretty chilly for chicks, even feathered ones. You might put them out now with a heat source (if you can do it safely) and/or tarp up their pen to keep the wind/weather off them. Could also wait another week, let them get that much fluffier/hardier. Rule of thumb I've seen is to put them out at four weeks.
