So we have a very large chicken coop and we're thinking about adding two rabbits to the bunch but we're worried about them escaping. We have a skirt going around the outside of the coop but will that be enough.

Pictures? Do you mean a skirt around the coop or around the run?

Around the run the coop is raised a couple feet off the ground.

I don't think that would be a good idea. I thought rabbits and chickens can share diseases. :hmm

My rabbits live right next to my show birds and are even in the same barn as them at my 4h fairgrounds. So I doubt they can get serious diseases unless it’s something like worms from coming in contact with feces, which can be easily prevented

Rabbits and chickens can definitely live together harmoniously. Rabbits like having an area to get away from the chickens when they want to, though. And I agree, it depends on the rabbit. Some will dig, others are less ambitious. Good luck!

They can share some respiratory infections but it isn't common, from what I understand. Just be aware of the risk and watch for signs. The infections don't appear out of nowhere, though.
