Can my rooster have layer feed?

My rooster (Mr. Darcy won't be joining the flock for awhile, but when he does, can he eat the layer feed? I saw "all flock" feed in the store. Do I need to change feed, or is it safe for Darcy to eat the layer feed?

Man roosters live all their lives eating layer. It may not the best thing for them, but they seem to tolerate it well.
