Can nesting areas be moved?

No rooster yet. I've been a little nervous about getting one because of the noise. I'm not worried about our neighbors complaining but I am worried about my husband!

I would also be worried about my kids and my dogs if I ended up with a nasty roo.

I love the diversity too. It's cool to know exactly who everyone is by name and to see their individual personalities. I never expected chickens to be so much fun.

I think I have as many silly stories to tell about my chickens at this point than I do about dogs and my parrots!

*chuckle* Hmm... So just when I start getting eggs, Trixie might decide to stop until the spring? Stinker.

She didn't lay any today but I'll be diligently checking daily from now on!

Yep understandable.

I have a rooster that we had since he was a baby... well like 2 months old I think... anyway, I love having him. He is a bit noisy, but no harm done. If you handle them all the time they wont come after you or anything. You can always look on craigslist to see if there is a rooster around and go visit to see if he is friendly and what not... I like having one because he keeps the girls in line when he feels like it and he is a great predator watcher. You can always research the calmer breeds of rooster, but ultimately it comes down to how much you handle them and discipline them.

I'm considering getting some chicks in the spring and including a Faverolle boy. I hear that they generally find themselves at the bottom of the pecking order so maybe a Fav roo will turn out to be nicer than some others might be.
