He is eating Purina duck food, and it’s been about 3 weeks since I started treating him with the durvet b complex, before that I was giving him the niacin pills for about 2ish weeks. He isn’t able to walk and can’t stand for very long, when he tries to walk he pushes himself along with his wings. The only possible improvement I’ve been seeing is that he will sometimes stand for very short periods of time, before he wouldn’t even stand so I’m hoping that the b complex is working.Oh, okay. 1ml a day b complex is perfect, you should see improvement soon. What feed is he on, and how long exactly has it been since starting treatment?
Also what symptoms of niacin deficiency are you seeing?
Thank you. He’s been on it for about three weeks now, I’ve been worried because the other time I dealt with niacin deficiency the duck was much younger and started to improve within days with just the niacin pills. But with him I didn’t catch it until later, he acted like it was one leg at first so I thought he just sprained his leg or something, but several days later it was both legs and much worse. How long has he been on the B complex? With a severe deficiency your ducks body not only has to build back up it's vitamin stores, but get it to a level where it can be maintained on its own. This process can takes many weeks to months depending on how severe the case.
