Can peafowl be kept with chickens?

I'm thinking that I'm going to get peafowl next year, and my question is this: can peafowl be kept with chickens? I've heard that turkeys should be kept far away from chickens, as they can easily exchange diseases. Is it the same with peafowl? They would be ranging in the same area, and POSSIBLY being in the same run when I'm gone, depending on the feasibility. So: do they easily spread diseases, and would they get along.

Yes, same as with turkeys, and the disease you need to worry about them getting is blackhead (histomoniasis).

Yes, through better chemistry. You have to be on top of the preventive maintenance.

deworming regularly of both species though honestly it's better to just keep them separate. Peafowl when they reach sexual maturity are known to kill chickens.

Peachicks are very prone to cocci so you need to keep a keen eye on them and treat every two to three weeks for cocci and every four weeks for worms.

I've never understood all this preventative stuff, is it only for certain regions?
We moved to a property with chickens and peafowl around 6 years ago and have never gave them anything.
