Can pheasants live with chickens

Ok so I got a Golden Red pheasant boy and I have a Nankin and some other breeds and my aviary is 25X25x15 is it okay to put a few bantam I'm with it becuase the golden red seems small and tame

A longtime pheasant breeder explained it this way to me- while it is quite possible to house poultry and gamebirds within the same enclosure, the risk is ALWAYS present. Poultry can and do carry diseases and parasites that they have evolved to such a point where they can tolerate and live without issue- pheasants (gamebirds) have not had the yrs of domestication that poultry has had so what may not harm chickens most often can kill pheasants.

I have personally seen folks that have kept their chickens with (more readily available) their pheasants for years. They then get the bug to branch out into the less commonly available pheasants- they hunt and locate the species that appeals to them, go get them and drop them into their pen/cage/aviary. I get a call 2-3 weeks later asking what is wrong with their pheasants and/or why did they loose one??
I really have no answer for them other than to gently go over husbandry practices and recommend they evaluate their own practices
