I’ve recently had the idea to raise a couple of pigs. As I already have a space for my chickens that’s closed off and warm, I was thinking of letting them in the same area. After doing a bit of research I’m getting a lot of mixed answers on whether or not it’s safe, so ideas and input are greatly appreciated. Once summer comes by I plan to make the area larger and build a proper shelter for the pigs on their own, but for now I’m hoping the chickens run would fit.

My sister raised a pig this past summer, and when we let it out into the pasture it got along fine with the chickens. Just make sure the chickens have a place to hide if they want to, and that the feeders are somewhere that the pig(s) can't get to them. Otherwise it's a big mess.

Either they will cooexist or they won't. I have had pigs that considered any chicken within reach to be a tasty snack.

My grandmother's chicken pen was right next to the pig pen. They chickens found their way into the pigpen every day. No harm to any of them.
