Can predators move pavers?

All the way around our run we put about 2 or 2.5 feet of cement pavers to deter diggers. Our fencing is not buried. Do you think anything is strong enough to lift pavers? Should i put cinder blocks on top to make it heavier? The chickens are in the coop at night and i doubt anything will try to dig during the day im just curious.

I think a raccoon or coyote could drag/push them out of the way, starting at a corner ... Certainly a bear could!

I havent personally ever saw a predator on our property but i did almost hit a raccoon on our road last year. We live on a 120 acre farm but we are closest to the road. I would guess that we have foxes and raccoonS. I live in delaware. We have some cinder blocks outside i think ill stack them along the pavers for more weight.

How about putting some heavy planters at the edges and corners? I don't think a raccoon will come straight-on and lift a paver then dig. They might scoot a paver on the edge or corner though to gain access.

Any updates on how the paver/cinderblock combo worked to keep out predators? we are currently having both a racoon and fox problem. We are building a more permanent/sturdy run this year so looking for a more temporary fix to add to our run in the meantime

Tip #1... Start a new thread as this one is old. You'll get way more help and direct answers to whatever questions and concerns you have..
Tip #2..... Don't place pavers or blocks at the outside edge of your aprons. Diggers will start at the blocks/pavers and go down. You want them to do that and then hit the apron. So place your pavers at the run for weight and stake the outside of the apron down.

It would have to be pretty determined to dig under, but yes many predators can move a 12" paver. I've seen raccoons move some fairly heavy objects: one year they decided to try stealing a plastic 14" wide plant pot full of soil, they dragged it from the back deck to 3/4 of the way across the lawn before giving up.

When I added pavers to my coop / run setup I got a 3 ton jack and lifted the whole structure a couple inches on each end & slipped the pavers under. Alternatively you could dig a bit & slip the pavers under. In either of those cases the pavers will be extremely difficult for anything short of a bear to budge.
