Sure they should be fine. They claim you can put a pair of peafowl,a pair of pheasants,a pair of partridge and a pair of quial all in the same enclosure, and everyone will get along. As long as everyone has a mate they don't bother each other.Never tried this myself.
In N.H.,Tony.
Ringneck males get very dominate in their pens especially durring mating season so make sure you have a large enough pen and plenty of places for hidding
I mixed many breeds of pheasants, partridge and quail, and I wouldn't put any of my quail in with ringnecks, I've tried it in the past and didn't work for me.
Here is a story - Had three extra Pheasants (1 cock & 2 hens) left over from some practice runs and put them in a empty recall pen for a few weeks. I then dropped in 4 quail and things seemed ok for a few days... then found one dead. I pulled the ringneck Cock and one Hen and put some lead in them in a couple practice runs. Brought back 3 more quail and dropped them in the recall totaling one Hen and six quail in the recall. Things where good for 2-3 weeks. I switched to a Wild bird feed block and a couple days later found one dead quail. no big deal thought it may have been just its time. Let it settle for a few more days and just checked the pen. KILL-FEST - 4 dead quail all showing physical trauma - only one very nervous living quail left and the hen which I now refer to as "the *****" did the Hen not like the Wild bird block? did the Hen feel it was safe to go rouge because it made it through Thanksgiving? ( I was thinking it may have been a nice side to the turkey ):. So at the end of the day IMO - may work for a little while but best to keep them in different pens. As far as the future... The ***** is going to the practice field today and to the table tonight. ap
