Hardwood floors were just added, and that created a lot of sawdust from woodcutting. Is this sawdust safe for quail to dustbath in?

Ah lol due to covid we can't go outside(it's still going on HARD in our area). But thanks for the advice on sawdust. So... I shouldn't put it in my coop?

What kind of hardwood?
Any finishes in it?
Any scraps you could burn for ash?

Food supplies for animals should be open. Even during a lock down. Maybe you can call you’re suplier for a pick up?

You shouldn't put sawdust in the coop for 2 reasons:

First, it harms the very little lungs. Much too dusty and sticky.

Second, it creates with the poop a very (again) sticky mass, resulting in nasty poop balls on the claws.

I have used plain soil before and mine loved it. They will dust in almost anything including my jumper. The soil is a better option to sawdust for now. Add sand when you are able to.
