i'm tired of my spaz buttons freaking and spilling their water or getting it full of bedding. My cage has a spot for a bottle to hang and I have an extra.

Can they use it like my chickens do?

Hi Sumatra!

My coturnix use water bottles and it is so less messy. They see one curious with it and they flock to it. I'm sure your buttons would get the idea quick. I was wondering for my colony outside, if they could use the heated rabbit bottle they have out. It is not like a regular water bottle with the ball, it has a stem in it. I'm not sure if their beaks could get the job done.

The stems are actually better/easier in my experience.

Thanks so much! Just trying to plan ahead with the cold weather coming. Heck it seems as if it is already here.

You'd probably need a hamster water bottle for buttons, but they should be able to use it just fine. My buttons use parakeet waterers, they work just as good about not getting bedding in them.

yeah, hamster bottles work better (the smaller nozzle). I use the parakeet waterers on some cages (like Shelleyd) and glass bottles on others...I have many cages, so the water bottles are nice, especially with the bedding
