I would like to put some hay in my rabbits pens as a bedding, but is it okay if they were to eat some?

Thanks

I sure hope so....thats the staple of my buns diet...that and veggies...and they are all very healthy.

Are you sure your not thinking of Straw?? Your rabbits should be eating lots of hay to stay healthy.. Straw is the yellow stuff, they wont eat it but it works well for bedding.. Hay is green and smells lovely thata the eating stuff...

Absolutely yes. They should be eating hay. They can eat straw, but it doesn't have very much nutritional value. Hay is a great source of fiber. It will regulate bunny and prevent/cure the runs.

Your bunnies should definately be eating hay, but I wouldn't use it as bedding, as it gets soaked w/urine and poo and becomes moldy (and hence unhealthy - mold causes respiratory problems and can lead to pneumonia).

Yep. they can have hay. give them the best grass hay you can find. Make sure there is no mold in it. Best place to buy it from is right from the farm. Grassy alfalfa and timothy are the best to use.

yup! That what i use as my bunny bedding too! He loves it...
i buy a big bale of it..and it lasts me long time..
