Can raccoons open these?

You have coons in cages?? I'm very familiar with them in both rescue & pets from years back... They will play with any locking mechanism forever just from curiosity, especially if its shiney...😂. Had quite a few snap clips opened in my younger years...😃...breaking out, not in😂😂😂

Yep 2 sisters that are 2 years old, will be 3 in feb or march. Mine is named Raven and my son named his Sally.

(about 6 months old here)

Had one as a pet on and off since I was 3 (few decades ago now). Got these from a buddy, the momma was ran over in front of her apartment. They didn't even have their eyes open and she thought she could make them house pets, soon found out it doesn't happen after they were a few months old. They live outside in a 10x10 enclosure. We get them out every day to let them play. They love digging in my garden.

(Sally taken a few weeks ago, never mind her shedding all over me)

Can't ever get a good picture of them looking at you, they always keep their nose down looking for trouble to get in to.

LOL until somebody proves me wrong I'm gonna claim to be the resident coon expert on here. Grew up with them as pets, grew up trapping, and hunting them. Was training and selling champion bluetick hounds by the time I was 9. Can even give ya a really good recipe for BBQ coon.

Wow, I have never seen raccoons able to be handled like that, and sit on a lap no less! Incredible.

Yeah it takes working and handling them nonstop. Even with that they still retain some of their "wild". These 2 hate a leash and my son has them spoiled where they think they are supposed to ride on your shoulder. Cute when they are babies but now they are close to 20lbs with razor blades for claws it aint very funny when they climb up your leg and shred your back getting up there. Takes a special kinda crazy to keep on much less 2 as a pet but they get along in captivity in a pair.

Still wouldn't trade the 2 a-holes for anything.

Have you ever had any issues with them being aggressive towards you?

They can try esp during mating season. They are fixed but hormones still kick in somewhat. Not near as bad as the one we had when I was a teen that wasn't. We would just turn her loose and she would stay gone for about a month to do her thing. She would come home and have her litter. That time of the year I've been nipped but as soon as they do it they know they done something wrong and stop. Mainly by Raven, Sally is the calmer one out of the 2. Best thing is to let them be till it gets out of their system. Don't hold it against them as it really aint their fault.
The worst they really do is around strangers, they try to run up my pants to try to hide under my shirt. It aint out of being mean but their claws on bare skin is pretty bad. The skunk I had was pretty antisocial also.

Well, that would be proof positive.......if they can actually reach them from inside the cages?

They are in a chain link dog kennel so they can stick their little arm out clear to the shoulder and grab things. Without the carabiner on it they can easily flip the latch to open the door.
