Can silkies get along with other breeds??

I have never had a problem with my silkies and my LF. The top hen of the pecking order at my place is one of my silkies. No one messes with her.

I agree! My silkies get along with my flock flawlessly. Only issue is my silkie rooster just lost his spot as alpha roo, and he's really bummed about it. The Barred Rock rooster won't let him come in to sleep until everyone is on the roosts. I have 36 chicks right now. 10 of which are silkies. I've seen my silkies fight with my LF cochins, despite being 1/4 of their size.

I mean really.. they are so very tiny in comparison, but really hold their own! When I first introduced a silkie with my flock, they didn't seem to know it was a chicken. They didn't peck her once... She was six weeks old added with POL pullets too!

I'm lucky my big roo doesn't try to mate the silkies I would feel so bad for them! haha Doesn't stop my silkie boys from mating the big girls though
