can small hens be with big drakes?

i’ve asked this before and got quite a few mixed opinions. some people said it’s perfectly fine as long as the drake isnt aggressive, and others said it has no chance of working. i’m talking about khaki campbell and rouen girls with a pekin drake.

Wait and see what works with your ducks. Its not like if your pekin mates your kc once he will kill her. You know how your ducks are feeling, try the new arrangement and ask them.

ok thank you. some people were actually making it seem like he would kill her as soon as they were together. even though he “mothered” and raised her when she was a baby

I would put them together on a day when you can watch, as long as you can hear them you will know if he is not nice to her.

I think it definitely depends on the drakes personality. I have one small one who is the sweetest and is so gentle with his girls. And of course my two jumbo Pekins are just the moodiest frat boy’s ever - I’m hoping age mellows them.

my pekin boy is the oldest, at almost 2. so i’m hoping he will be the nicest
