can small mallard drake mate with larger golden cascade duck?

Just curious. Just introduced these two and they are all sweet together but he looks much smaller than her.He is around 3pm and she must be around 5lb.

Yes a drake will try to mate anything that stands still long enough. Lol. He may just have to try a couple times, but that’s normal.

They had a welsh harlequin and she was the same size as my mallard drake. I chose the golden cascade as he can be a bit mean, but he is in awe of her giant beauty! I just filled the wading pool and they are having a ton of fun splashing around.
