I've been trying to research quail pattern and how to achieve it. I've been a bit curious playing with the calculator. I've found that MI and Cha play a part but I haven't yet figured it out. What does it look like? Color on top and white underside?

I haven't really studied the genetics. If you take a look at some of the recordings of Terry's (Coturnix Corner) videos, he's had some guests that are quite knowledgable about the genetics though.

I only know the basics on the different colours and patterns. They have changed so much even in the last five years. That's the thing with their short lifespans is that entire new colours and varieties can come up in a very short time.

I actually meant quail pattern in chickens. It has to do with melanotic and Columbian but I'm not super sure. Still trying to learn.

The Melanotic increases the black pattern areas over the back. Brassy back is quail without Columbian.
The Columbian gene removes the black breasts of males and the red areas and makes them gold. It also makes the wing bar partly gold on males.
