I recently adopted a single baby chick, she has grown very attached to me and seems very happy I have the option to give her to my aunt who has a flock of chickens but I am scared that if I do she will be bullied and not fit in and feel abandoned by me, if I keep her I’m scared she become lonely and I want her to have the best opportunity in life that she can. What should I do? She is currently two weeks old and is doing great so far

If I get two more chicks around the same age and create a coop and run outside with a heat source will they be ok?

Hi, welcome to BYC!

At two weeks I would keep them inside for at least another week until they have more feathers and then move them to an outside brooder with a safe source of heat. What are you keeping this baby in now, and what are you using for heat? Can you post a picture of your setup so we can advise you?

Welcome to BYC. I'm torn as to what advice to give you. I have a hen that I raised indoors. She was and is, very attached to me. When she was still a tiny chick I would take her out to visit the flock everyday. By the time she was 6 weeks she didn't want to go back inside. She did get bullied a little because she was the youngest. She still wanted to be with the flock.
If you can begin taking your pullet to visit often and then put her in a cage inside the coop or run for a while the flock will accept her. She won't forget you. You have a lifetime friend.

Hi, what is your preference...do you want to keep a flock or would you rather be chicken-less? If you want a flock, you could get a few more chicks. If you prefer not to raise chickens, that's fine because you have someone that is willing to take in your single. There isn't a right or wrong answer, it's your choice and your goal.

Good luck...if you need help or have questions, just find the appropriate forum and post.
