Haha, I knew as soon as I asked for help I would figure it out. As you can see, I figured it out.

I always ask my daughters how to do this stuff.

This was what they did for me--
1) Found a photo
2) Saved to desktop
3) cropped and resized in a JPEG program, like IrfanView*
4) uploaded to use on a site like this

MY Avatar was resized to: 100 x 100
RAM size: 0.03 MB
File Size: 2.80 KB

When you copy a photo be sure to:
1) resize/resample
and
2) sharpen

That's why some avatars look fuzzy....like a fuzzybutt
